Members also played an important role in developing CBD's Addis Ababa Principles and Guidelines for Sustainable Use, and the major role in development of the Charter on Hunting and Biodiversity adopted by Council of Europe Bern Convention in 2007 (and available with an introduction by the Convention Chair), of the Charter on Recreational Fishing and Biodiversity in 2010 and of the Charter on Fungi-gathering and Biodiversity in 2013, including the European Code of Conduct for Gathering Fungi. See also a brief summary of how we developed these European Charters.

As a practical tool for sign-posting local clubs and communities to best practise examples and tools for conservation through their use of ecosystem services, the group's Country Coordinators are working with SUME to help run multilingual governance tools Naturalliance and the System for Community Liaison (SYCL).
